Captain Positivity flew into Chatham-Kent Hospice today to visit our residents and their families. He delivered cookies as well as messages of support and encouragement.
“Hospice is always a memorable visit for me. Families are going through a difficult time but the atmosphere is so welcoming and positive. Being a bright spot in their day, spreading positive energy is what the 12 Days of Positivity is all about!” said Captain Positivity.
“People often think Hospice will be a sad and depressing place, but after visiting they realize families really can enjoy the time they have left with their loved one in a bright, calm and peaceful environment,” said Jessica Smith, Executive Director of Chatham-Kent Hospice.
During his visit Captain Positivity also thanked our team of staff and volunteers for the work they do caring for families as they prepare to say goodbye.
About Chatham-Kent Hospice:
The Chatham-Kent Hospice is a 10-bed residential facility that offers care for residents facing end of life and support for their loved ones. The hospice provides comfort, support and specialized pain and symptom management in a home-like setting. Around the clock care is provided by dedicated physicians, nurses, personal support workers and volunteers. Since opening in April 2016, Chatham-Kent Hospice has served over 640 families. In order to offer these services at no cost to residents or their families, Chatham-Kent Hospice relies on donations from our community.
