As the COVID-19 situation evolves, Chatham-Kent Hospice is continuing to take actions to protect our residents and their families, clients, volunteers and staff.
Screening for all staff and visitors remains in effect. Visitors continue to be restricted to 2 dedicated people for each resident. We understand that visitor restrictions make an already challenging time even more difficult. Our dedicated staff are looking into some creative options for families to visit from a distance during this unprecedented time. While we recognize these options are not the same as visiting in person, they do offer ways to stay connected.
To contact a hospice family by phone or inquire about other virtual options please call the hospice at 519-354-3113.
If you are not currently involved in our programs and wishing to seek out our bereavement services, we are still accepting referrals and offering support by telephone. Visit the referral form on our website or call Sally Reaume at 519-354-3113 ext. 2406.
For the safety of our volunteers who so generously give of their time, and in an effort to prevent community spread, we are temporarily suspending all volunteer roles effective April 1, 2020. We are eternally grateful to each and every one of our volunteers, and look forward to welcoming them all back soon. In the meantime, staff has stepped in to fill some of the roles such as at reception and in the kitchen.
Thank you to our dedicated donors. We appreciate your ongoing support. For the safety of all, we encourage you to give online or over the phone with a credit card or send a cheque by mail. If you would like to drop off a gift at Hospice, please do so between the hours of 11 am and 7 pm when a receptionist will be on hand to take your donation. Before delivering, please enclose cash or cheque in an envelope marked with your name, address, phone number so we can process accurately.
We thank you all for your patience and understanding. By working together, we will get through this crisis stronger than ever.
