Thanks to a $7,500 grant from the South Kent Wind Community Fund, a Donor Advised fund of the Chatham Kent Community Foundation, the Chatham-Kent Hospice was able to purchase 2 myAirVO 2 machines to provide advanced respiratory support to residents at Chatham-Kent Hospice.
The addition of these machines will significantly improve the quality of life for residents with respiratory distress by alleviating discomfort and reducing symptoms of breathlessness, a common and distressing issue for many hospice patients.
“We are very grateful to the South Kent Wind Community Fund and the Chatham Kent Community Foundation for this generous donation that will help us to continue to strive to provide the best end-of-life hospice care possible for individuals and their families in our community” shared Jessica Smith, Executive Director, Chatham-Kent Hospice.
These new machines were purchased in partnership with the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, who will be providing training for Hospice staff as well as ongoing maintenance.
