Pretty in Pink, a women’s group from Dover, recently presented a donation of $25,000 to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
“In the Fall of 2014, we heard about community fundraising initiatives for a Hospice in Chatham-Kent. We knew right away that this was something we wanted to be a part of as a group. It’s a peaceful place for families to get the care and support they need in the end stages of life. Every one of us have had a family member or friend that has used this facility, and hear great things about the care and programs offered so we keep it close to our hearts and continue to fundraise to help keep it in our community,” said Kelly Waddick, Pretty in Pink member.
“We are so grateful to the members of Pretty in Pink and the community who support their events throughout the year. This donation will fund 42 days of care for a residence and their family, allowing us to continue to provide compassionate end-of-life care at no-cost to individuals and families in our community,” said Brock McGregor, Executive Director, Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
In the past 11 years they have gifted over $222,428.55 to ensure local families have access to care navigation at the time of diagnosis, residential hospice care, as well as grief and bereavement support.
