Hike For Hospice

Lace up your shoes and Hike for Hospice to raise essential funds in support of Chatham-Kent Hospice! Presented by Title Sponsor Battery Boy, registration is now open for the ninth annual event that takes place Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Mud Creek Trail in Chatham.

Registration is free with the option to purchase a commemorative t-shirt, or personalized memorial sign featuring the name and picture of a loved one who has passed.

Before hitting the trail, participants can use the online system or our paper form to collect and track pledges. This year’s event hopes to raise $150,000, with all funds staying right here in Chatham-Kent providing compassionate end-of-life care at no cost to families in our community.

On the day of the event, pre-hike activities get underway starting at noon with live music, memorial activities, lawn games, kid’s activities and more, made possible by Kent and Essex Mutual Insurance. After a few announcements the group will head out on the trail at 2:00 p.m.

“We invite people of all abilities to sign-up, collect pledges and come together for some family time. Participating in Hike for Hospice is a wonderful way for people to remember their loved ones who have passed and honour them by paying it forward to other families in Chatham-Kent,” said Ginny Hawken, Special Events Committee Chair for Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.

Although the main event takes place Sunday, May 4, participants are also welcome to hike the Mud Creek Trail at their convenience between Monday, April 28 and Saturday, May 3. Memorial signs will be set up along the trail beginning April 28.

Hike for Hospice Chatham-Kent is proudly presented by Battery Boy and generously supported by Kent & Essex Mutual Insurance, Neighbourly Care Home Health Services, TekSavvy Solutions Inc., Chatham Lions Club, Microage/MC Business Solutions, Fairway Wealth Management, and additional sponsors listed on our website.
